The balusters.

A few months ago we already wrote an article about glass staircases and the different functional and aesthetic accessories. Today we are going to focus on one of these complements: the balusters.

To begin, the balusters are the columns that form the different types of handrails: stairs, corridors, swimming pools, etc. and that have an aesthetic and a safety function.

As indicated above, one of the functions is safety, as it prevents objects and people from falling by fixing and securing the glass. On the other hand, they have the aesthetic function of complementing the style of the rest of the house. Hence, there are balusters for different types of use. That is why it is said that the baluster, in addition to playing an aesthetic role, has a structural role in the different balustrades.

It is advisable to specify the thickness of the glass and what it will be used for, so that the best performance for this function can be prescribed. At Aramar we have them in AISI 304 and AISI 316, and you will find them on page 446-449 of our catalogue.

These three models are available in satin stainless steel and gloss stainless steel finish, so the references of these balusters will vary according to their finish.

In the image below we can see an example of the presence of these balusters in a swimming pool installation:
